Marinate the wings<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Use a fork to <strong>poke holes in the back of each wing<\/strong>. This step helps the marinade to soak in. It helps a lot especially if you are not planning to marinate the wings overnight. In a large bowl, combine the wings and the seasonings. Always use your hands to thoroughly work the wings instead of stirring with a spatula. This process causes the moisture in the wings to settle, and the moisture will cook off during the second fry. This way, it helps the wings to get extra crispy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s why I prefer to fry the wings in a smaller pot in two batches. So I don\u2019t need to use a ton of oil. And the wings rest naturally while I fry the second batch.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-my-favorite-deep-frying-pot\">My favorite deep frying pot<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I choose my equipment for deep frying depending on the food I\u2019m cooking. For these fried wings, I prefer to use my <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/47rj0za\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">small tempura pot<\/a>. It is just the perfect size for deep frying small, thick food. The shape of the pot helps use minimal oil for proper frying. The top prevents oil splatter. When the oil cools off, I pour the oil into the container through a fennel. Then dispose of the container in the trash.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I use an <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/47i0gDq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">oil filtering and storage container<\/a> to strain the leftover oil so I can remove any impurities. I store it in a cool, dark place and usually reuse the oil 2 to 3 times.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When it\u2019s time to dispose of the oil (after reusing a few times), I use oil <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/4ojV8oo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener sponsored nofollow\">solidifier<\/a> so the oil turns into a solid piece after cooling off. Then I throw it into the trash.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\t\t\r\n\t\t\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-serving-suggestions\">Serving Suggestions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve these crispy Chinese fried chicken wings as an appetizer or snack with cold beer, <a href=\"https:\/\/omnivorescookbook.com\/bubble-tea\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bubble tea<\/a>, or iced jasmine tea. I also like to fry them in big batches in advance and freeze them. Then I can heat them up in my air fryer any time. For a delicious lunch, I serve these wings with rice and some <a href=\"https:\/\/omnivorescookbook.com\/pickled-daikon-with-carrot\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">daikon pickles<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These wings are seasoned so you do not need a dipping sauce. If you prefer a sauce, they pair wonderfully with chili crisp and other hot sauces, sweet chili sauce, mayonnaise, or a simple mix of soy sauce and vinegar for dipping. Spray the wings with a generous amount of oil and air fry at&nbsp; 400\u00b0F (200\u00b0C) for 18 to 25 minutes in total, flipping once in between, until golden and crispy. The only concern is, I use a slightly thicker batter in this recipe than my <a href=\"https:\/\/omnivorescookbook.com\/air-fryer-chinese-chicken-wings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">air fryer Chinese fried wings<\/a>, so the coating might not cook properly without enough oil. Check the wings during the cooking.
